SCHOOL EXCHANGE PROGRAM

A School Exchange programme between St. Dominic Savio High School and The Young Indians’ School was held on 4th February 2013 at The Young Indians’ School and was attended by 29 students and two teachers from each school.

The programme was initiated with a meditation session where the children were asked to close their eyes and relax for a few minutes.

An ice –breaker game was held wherein each child had to come to the centre and say his/her name and mime/act his or her hobby. A discussion followed where in the students were asked what they learnt from the previous two programmes. Each child expressed their views and their feedback of the necessity of School Exchange Programmes and how meaningful it is to them.

Most of the students felt that this programme had a positive effect in their lives as they learnt to reach out to others. The students interacted through games and exchange of words through songs and a meaningful rapport took place.

In our next plan of action between the two schools, a tournament like Cricket and Kho-Kho will be conducted by the 2 schools animated by the teachers of the two schools and the community staff of Don Bosco Balprafulta. This will enable the children to know each other better so that their rapport with each other grows. (4 photos)
