One of the out-reach programmes of the Dominic Savio Complex is the Evening Study Classes that are conducted for the children and youngsters from around the 'slums and bastis' of the neighbourhood. The children and youngsters are from the fifth to the tenth standards and avail of the opportunity and the facilities for recreation, study and relaxation. Dominic Savio Complex has around three hundred children that come for the Evening Sudy Classes on a regular basis. There are a group of young dedicated teachers who accompany these youngsters in their work, study and recreation.

The Evening Study Classes are totally free for these youngsters. The expenses are taken care of by generous benefactors and well-wishers who reach out to help such projects of the Instiitution. The Evening Study Classes have been sponsored by 'Werelkinderen' from the Netherlands. We are grateful to them for their years of collaboration with Dominic Savio Boys Home.

The St. Dominic Savio Boys Home Band went to the Provincial House on the 19th September to felicitate and wish Fr. Ajoy Fernandes, the Vice Provincial, on the occasion of his Birthday. Fr. Ajoy was indeed very happy to see the boys and the band and appreciated their presence and their playing. It was a wonderful celebration for both the boys and Fr. Ajoy. Br. Brenden and the boys carried the wishes of the community and the Boys Home to Fr. Ajoy.

A good number of Past Pupils attended the AGM meeting this morning from 10.00 A.M. to about 11.30 A.M. The swine flu had earlier disrupted the scheduled meeting that was to be held in August.. The President of the unit, Mr. Remit Fernandes invited Fr. Godfrey D'Souza, the Rector of the Institute to say a few words of encouragement and animation.
After the meeting those who were around came  together for an informal group photograph.
