The Primary Section had its Annual Sports Festival on Saturday 9th October 2010 and began at 8.45 am with the the Chief Guest, Fr. Godfrey D'Souza - the Rector marching in together with other dignitaries. The others were Bishop George Lugos from Argentina, Fr. Crispino D'Souza the Principal and Fr. Edwin Colaco the Administrator.

The torch was taken up by various youngsters who were good at one of the disciplines and finally given to Bishop George who lit the flame and kept it burning. The sportsmen oath was taken and then the balloons were released to declare the Sports Festival open.

The dignitaries were escorted to their seats and the drills began. It was wonderful to see that the theme of the drill was also 'Care for Creation'.

The lads were ready for their track and field events once the drills were over and there was excitement in the air as they got ready with the various games that were organized for the day.

At about 01.00 pm the youngsters assembled in the school hall and we had the distribution of the prizes. Fr. Rector was invited to say a few words and thanked the organizers and the teachers for the time and trouble taken to make this day wonderful for the youngsters. He also thanked all the parents who were present and helped in one way or another by being on the field and seeing to the discipline.

Fr. Rector told the parents that a Don Bosco institution always makes sure that there is a big playground for the children as it is on the playground that Character is not only formed but also revealed.

The thrill to be counted as a winner by the various houses was seen by the excitement and shouts that were heard when the House names were called out.

Fr. Crispino gave the vote of thanks and Fr. Rector then put off the flame to let the participants know that the event came to the end.

There certainly was great joy on the faces of the youngsters.
