On the 1st October, the Mumbai Province of the Salesians of Don Bosco had its First Session of PC 2010 (Provincial Chapter) at Don Bosco Matunga, at the Provincial House. There were 61 members present, of these 31 were ex-officio members that included the Provincial, Vice Provincial, the Economer and Rectors of Institutions, 21 were delegates from the communities and 9 were delegates from the Province, Four were appointed as Observers by the Provincial.
A Provincial Chapter is an official gathering of a representative body with voting rights of those elected, except the observers. This body usually deliberates about matters which regard the province. The deliberations of the Provincial Chapter have binding force after the approval of the Rector Major in Rome.

The second session of PC 2010 will be held in February 2010 for a period of five days at Don Bosco Lonavla.
Fr. Godfrey D'Souza the Rector of St. Dominic Savio Boys Home was an ex-officio member to the Chapter and Fr. Godfrey D'Sa, Director Prafulta Psychological Counselling Services, was elected delegate from the community. They were present for the meeting.
